Alauda Ruiz de Azúa

Born in Biscay, Alauda Ruiz de Azúa holds a BA in English Language & Literature from the University of Deusto and in Audiovisual Communication from the UPV.She also graduated in Film Direction from the ECAM.Her debut feature film, Lullaby (Cinco Lobitos), was selected in the Panorama Audience Award at the Berlin Film Festival and in the Official Section of the Malaga Festival. The film premiered in cinemas on 20 May. 

Her shorts have garnered multiple awards, where highlights include ClasesParticulares (Private Lessons, 2005) and They Say (2011), which was selected at over 160 festivals and received some 50 awards, including the Best Direction and Best Short awards at the Alfás del Pi Festival, the Best Direction Award at the Medina del Campo Festival and the Ex-aequo Grand Award for Spanish Cinema at ZINEBI Bilbao.

In parallel, she has had an intense career in advertising.In 2012, she founded her own production company, Igloo Films, and has run campaigns for Toyota, Coca-Cola, Samsung, Once and Mapre, among others. In its development stage, Lullaby took part in the ECAM Incubator, and it received the Best Project Award at the Ventana CineMad International Co-production Forum.The film was produced by Encanta Films, Sayaka Producciones and Buena Pinta Media, and distributed by BTeam.
