Kristina Spohr

Professor Kristina Spohr is a specialist in the International History of Germany since 1945 and is interested in questions of World Order, Diplomacy and Strategy, and the practice of Applied History.

She is the author of a dozen books and edited volumes. Her latest book Post Wall, Post Square: Rebuilding the World the World After 1989 was recognized in 2020 as the best political science book published in Germany.

Spohr is the Helmut Schmidt Distinguished Professor at the Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs at Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC. She is also on the permanent faculty of the Department of International History at the London School of Economics. She is currently writing a global history of the Arctic.
