Born in 1982 in Santiago de Compostela, Lucía Freitas is the chef/owner of the restaurant A Tafona, which is distinguished by a Michelin star and 2 Repsol Soles.

Honorary president of WIG (‘Women in Gastronomy’, Japan), she firmly believes that haute cuisine is heading down a regressive path back to the origin of technology and innovation.

She grows her own produce and constantly investigates the green world and plant chromatics, working closely with shellfish gatherers, fisherwomen and local producers to prepare her menus and new recipes that enrich the gastronomic culture of Galicia.

In 2017, she opened Lume, a new concept gastropub which has positioned Lucía as one of the best female gastronomic entrepreneurs in Spain.
