Rada Akbar is an Afghan artist whose work focuses on re-examining history and gender equality in her country through her work in fashion, design, and the visual arts.

In 2018 she started an annual art exhibition called "Abarzanan" that honored women's contribution to Afghan history.Born and raised in Afghanistan, Akbar started her career in visual arts to express and help explain the realities around her. As a woman, activist, and artist Akbar always knew that being silent in the face of oppression is not something she was capable of and has always used art to raise her voice against misogyny and oppression.

As an artist, she uses a mix of wearable monuments, performances, paintings, photography, and installations. Akbar's artwork and photographs have been featured in numerous national and international exhibitions. She won an honorable mention in UNICEF's photo of the year in 2015. In August 2021, he fled Kabul after the Taliban seized power. Since then, she has been living in Paris, where she has exhibited her work and done collaborations with artists such as Laurie Anderson.

She was the recipient of the Mujer Hoy Award 2021.
